Announcements

There will be no meeting or program in December.   
Members:  keep an eye on your e-mail for Holiday Party details!


Following the January meeting will be a Lace-In.  Members + guests bring what you would like to work on.   Suggestions include unfinished bobbin lace 3D bunny, lace knitting, or a project in progress.



Following the February meeting will be a knitted lace program.

November Meeting + Program

During the TAF renovations (probably a year), 
we will be meeting at the TCHA History Center, 
located at the NW corner of Columbia  and 6th Streets in Lafayette 
(just 2 blocks south of the TAF building where we used to meet).  

Currently, there is no sign on the TCHA History Center.  
The building is  across the street from the 
Lafayette City Hall and Police Station which do have signs.

On-street parking has no time limit on Saturdays; however, keep in mind, there is a
Farmers  Market in the morning, one block west of the History Center.     

In addition to on on-street parking spaces, there is FREE parking on Saturday
 at the Columbia Block Parking Facility, 
(located south of Columbia Street -- one block west of the TCHA History Center)

Directions

Fort Ouiatenon is located at 3129 S. River Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906. If you are coming from the:
  • North – Take I-65 to exit 178 and turn south on North River Road. In West Lafayette, cross State Street and continue on South River Road for approximately 1 mile. At the intersection with US231, proceed through the traffic signal and continue on South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
  • East – Take I-65 to exit 172 and head westbound on South Street. Take South Street (becoming Columbia Street) through Lafayette and cross the Wabash River (becoming State Street) to the intersection with River Road. Turn left on South River Road and proceed for approximately 1 mile. At the intersection with US231, proceed through the traffic signal and continue on South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
  • South – Take US231 North across the Wabash River and turn left at the first traffic signal after crossing the river on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
  • West – Take Indiana SR 26 to the intersection with US 231. Turn right on US 231 South. Continue south on US 231 for approximately 2 miles. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.

Program Update - August Edited post

Following the monthly business meeting, the ornament theme program will begin:


Our holiday ornament, theme program has been changed.   Members, bring your favorite holiday patterns to share.   
Bette is going to share a pattern of a 3D Bunny.  It is a bobbin lace pattern.  She will bring the pattern on cardstock.

To create the 3D bunny, participants will need Bockens 35/2 linen, perle cotton + cookie pillow ( pricking is apx 10" long ) , straight pins, crochet hook for sewing, etc.  

Members - keep an eye on your e-mail for pricking + additional information.

July Meeting + Program


The July program (following business meeting) is a Lace In.   Please bring anything you have in progress, including the June sampler (Intro to Estonian knitted lace).   Maybe create some small lace samples to share at community events.

 Small lace samples are needed for 
Lafayette Lacemaker business cards 
Please give them to Cathy --- many are needed to hand out at community events.
